Dr Rathumbu is the Head of Department for the Limpopo Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism (LEDET). He has more than 25 years of experience in the public service, having built extensive expertise in areas such as international economic diplomacy, industrial development, economic planning and development, monitoring and evaluation, enterprise development, governance, and oversight.
Throughout his career, Dr Rathumbu has served on the boards of several Limpopo provincial development institutions, including the Limpopo Economic Development Agency (LEDA), the Limpopo Gambling Board (LGB), and the Musina-Makhado Special Economic Zone (MMSEZ).
He has also represented South Africa on various international committees, including the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Committee on Central Banks, the Committee on Development Finance Institutions, and the committee responsible for drafting the Finance and Investment Protocol.
This wealth of experience has enabled Dr Rathumbu to make a significant contribution to economic development, investment promotion, governance, and regional cooperation at both provincial and international levels.
