24 May 2010 - 24 May 2010 - The Limpopo Youth Biz Competition has kicked off; interested young aspirant business
people between the ages of 18 to 35 will have the opportunity to participate in workshops that will explain everything there
is to know about the competition such as the criteria for participating. All workshops will be presented at the LIBSA offices,
which are located in all the districts in the province.
It has been five years since its inception but each year the competition attracts more young people from the province.
Last year, over 50 business plans qualified for the competition and candidates took part in interviews with a panel of
experts from LEDET, LIBSA, LIMDEV and SEDA.
The interviews are a means to assess how well the potential candidates have compiled their business plans. Candidates
have to ensure that their business plans are well prepared, well researched, and sustainable and in the correct format.
Entry is open for all business categories.
Between 17 May and 04 June this year prospective competitors on the development of business plans will be conducted at
Limpopo Business Support Agency (LIBSA) branches. It is important to note that all business plans are expected to be
collected by the 02 July 2010.
A month long campaign in all district and local municipalities is to be conducted to disseminate information about the competition.
We therefore encourage all interested youth to visit their municipalities and obtain information in this regard. This is an
opportunity of a lifetime and our youth dare not miss this opportunity.
We are encouraged by the success stories we have recorded and we remain hopeful that we will continue to record many more success
stories about the participation of our youth in business. Winners will be awarded their prices on the 9 August 2010 at Ledet's head office in Polokwane.
